Assured Management Limited is the Responsible Entity that promotes, advises and manages mortgage investments in the Assured Mortgage Fund. Assured Management Limited was first issued with a Securities Dealers Licence by the Australian Securities & Investment Commission in November 1999 and now holds an Australian Financial Services Licence. To obtain this Licence, Assured Management Limited satisfied ASIC that it had established and maintains adequate training, supervision, and compliance procedures.
The Manager's principal responsibility is to conduct the business of the Fund in a proper and efficient manner and to comply with the Fund's Constitution and the Corporations Act. The Managers' role is to identify, hold and manage the Fund assets. Our responsibilities, powers and duties are set out in the Fund's Constitution.
Stephen John Davoren is the Managing Director and has been extensively involved in mortgage lending and property development since 1978. Stephen has resided on the Gold Coast his entire life and has extensive knowledge of the area and the cycles the property market has experienced. Stephen is a permanent member of the Loans Approval Committee, and is also a member of the Credit Committee. Stephen is actively involved in all aspects of the business, from setting policies and procedures and the implementation thereof, to recovery and default work. Stephen is a qualified Solicitor in Queensland and New South Wales and is also the Senior Partner and Former Managing Partner of Davoren Associates Solicitors.
Michael Joseph Coman, Director, holds a Bachelor of Business Degree, majoring in accounting, from Griffith University and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Queensland University of Technology. Michael has completed the Financial Planning Principals & Practice via the Securities Institute of Australia. Michael is a qualified Solicitor having been in practice for over 25 years and is the Managing Partner of Davoren Associates Solicitors. He has been a Director of Assured Management Limited since its inception and his knowledge in the business and accounting areas is incredibly important to the Fund's operations.
Nicholas James Davoren, Director, holds a Bachelor of International Finance Degree from Griffith University and a Diploma in Financial Services. Nicholas has been working with Assured Management Limited since January 2005 and has taken an active role in Credit Committee Meetings, Loans Assessment and Approval and Board Meetings. Nicholas is a key point of contact for the fund's borrowers and investors. He is also a member of the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s (UDIA) Finance and Taxation Policy Committee where he works with the Institute on issues relating to finance, banking, duties, and taxation at a state government level for the property development industry.
Samuel Joseph Meek, Portfolio Manager, holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, Double Majoring in Finance and Financial Planning, and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Griffith University. Sam has been working with Assured Management Limited since January 2019. As Portfolio Manager, Sam monitors the loan process from start to finish, including establishing acceptable lending parameters, credit application due diligence, and construction monitoring. He has also taken an active role in Credit Committee Meetings, and in Board Meetings.
